Cosy and warm, the Eureka Shawl was inspired by the gold rush era of the Australian goldfields. The undulating waves of the beautiful Shale Border takes you travelling back through time to a place where the colours of creamy quartz and gold would quicken the heart, lift the spirits and make you shout aloud in joy: Eureka!
The Eureka shawl is semi circular and is knitted top down beginning with an Icord Tab. Knitted almost entirely in garter stitch, the simple yet delightfully traditional Shale Border is easily achieved, while the colour changes keep you interested - just like panning for gold! To add appeal, the Knitted-on Edge creates an attractive and elegant finish.
Pattern support is given through charts, written instructions and YouTube tutorials for the following techniques: Provisional Cast On, Icord Tab, Cable Cast on and the Knitted-on Edge, making this a treasure trove of easy learning and information.
Knitted with 100% wool in DK yarn, the Eureka Shawl is large enough to use as a lap rug, or a baby blanket, a wrap….and like a piece of gold, it will soon become a precious delight.
